Who Are We Serving?
Jeremy & Lindsey Bolton have been married for 13 years and have three young boys age 3, 6 and 9. They've been with YWAM since 2005 and were a part of pioneering YWAM Queenstown, New Zealand in 2014-2019. The Lord richly blessed this ministry to grow. During that time they focused 75% of their outreach teams to the nation of Papua New Guinea. Over the past eight years they've been leading different initiatives in Papua New Guinea, from pioneering the Discipleship Bible Schools in PNG, raising up local leaders, and adopting 33 languages to translate. They've been a part of raising funds for the translation work in Madang and the YWAM Liberty ship in PNG. In 2019 they moved to Kona, Hawaii to join the leadership team of End Bible Poverty Now. The UofN Kona campus asked them to lead all initiatives for Papua New Guinea so they moved to Papua New Guinea full time in January of 2024 to lead the base in Madang. Madang is the most concentrated place in the world for languages without the Bible!

Project:
YWAM Madang Bible Translation & Distribution Center, along with a base to host a Discipleship Training School. The property now consists of a large vacant steel building warehouse on the waterfront. Plans are to erect a 2-story, steel framed build-out inside the existing steel shell. Facilities will include an auditorium, translation offices, recording studio, DTS classrooms, offices, restrooms, and a cafe. Restrooms were renovated in winter of 2024, and new shell insulation and rubber roof were installed in winter 2025. Materials are on site to start the interior build-out winter 2026!
YWAM also purchased a housing complex in 2024 to provide housing for DTS students and staff, along with long term bas staff. Volunteers will also be doing various improvements at that as well.
What to Expect:
-The weather: Very hot! Around 90 degrees with high humidity
- Lodging: Volunteers will be housed in the recently purchased apartments on the YWAM base with air-conditioned rooms, shared living spaces, and only a few minutes from the work site.
-Schedule: Work days will include a morning devotional/Bible study, and typically consist of 8 hrs. on site. Evenings and weekends are usually free time, although we may work a part day on Saturdays, depending on work progress.
-Off Hours: PNG is a tropical climate and Madang is a waterfront city! Beautiful beaches and clear water mean swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking are readily available. If schedules allow, there's also a possibility of joining the YWAM teams in Bible distribution or street evangelism if that's something you're interested in.
Travel: PNG is literally on the other side of the world! There's only a few hours difference traveling east or west from PA to go to PNG, so you may pass through New Zealand and Australia on your way there, or you may travel through the Middle East and the Philippines. Expect several days of travel and possibly some long layovers as you journey to PNG!
-Currency: You'll exchange your USD for PNG Kina upon entering the country. The exchange rate is very favorable so things will be affordable in PNG! (Example: a meal at a nice restaurant is often only $10-$15. A simple sandwich meal can be had for $4-$5)
